Yarn / Thread
I like using 100% cotton crochet thread No. 5, 8, 10 or 20 like Aida (Coats), Manuela (Schoeller & Stahl) or Liana (Anchor) but honestly you can use whatever yarn or thread you like. The pattern is written to be adjusted to any size. Still, if you want your collar looking like mine, use crochet thread 10 in the color cream.
