Knit with two strands at a time, this scarf is knit diagonally with one strand of each color changing at a time to create a lovely shaded effect. It is an easy pattern that looks wonderful with minimal effort.
Skill Level (1 Easy - 4 Advanced): 1 Easy Beginner
Description: Scarf knit with basic increases and decreases with two strands of yarn held together throughout entire project.
Dimensions: approximately 5” x 66”
Needles: US 10.5 (6.5 mm) straight needles or size needed for gauge
Gauge: 12 stitches +16 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch,
2 strands of yarn held as one throughout scarf
Yarn: any worsted weight wool
Yarn in sample:
Light Color, Cascade 220 100% Peruvian Highland Wool;
220 yd/202 m per 3.5 oz/100 gram skein; color 2440, Vinci; 1 skein
Medium Color, Cascade 220 100% Peruvian Highland Wool; 220 yd/202 m per 3.5 oz/100 gram skein; color 9537, Cedar Tweed; 1 skein
Dark Color, Cascade 220 100% Peruvian Highland Wool; 220 yd/202 m per 3.5 oz/100 gram skein; color 9408, Cordovan; 1 skein
Total Yardage: approximately 150 yards of three different colors (light, medium and dark) or approximately 450 yards total
Notions: stitch marker, tapestry needle to weave in ends
