This is a fun pattern that has recently shown up again. When I saw an example and searched I found this example:

I followed the link here to the Wayback machine, which has written instructions. At the bottom it says Celt’s vintage crochet. Then googled Celts vintage crochet. Celts turned out to be a yahoo group which I joined. That group has the Sunset pattern again, with the original PHOTO and CHART.

My version is a modern modification of the Sunset pattern, with irregular striping and rectangular size. It solves the problem of the points on the narrow edges of ripple designs by setting the design sideways from its usual aspect.
