Diagonale is an easy poncho featuring a brioche “cable” traveling from one side of the piece to the other, dividing the piece into a lighter part and a darker one.

It is an intermediate difficulty level project, playing with
simple increases and decreases over a two-color brioche stitch worked flat.

8” positive ease recommended.

Yarn
LC: Rowan Alpaca soft DK (70% Virgin Wool, 30% Alpaca 125 m 137 yds/50 g) col 00210 Rainy Day 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins.
DC: Rowan Alpaca soft DK (70% Virgin Wool, 30% Alpaca 125 m 137 yds/50 g) col 00211 Charcoal 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins.
Needles
4 mm /US 6 * circular knitting needles with 80 cm/32” cable.

Notions
2 markers A (for Borders), 1 marker B (for beg of Cable pattern), 1 marker C (for end of Cable pattern).
Stitch holder or waste yarn to hold neck stitches.
Waste yarn for provisional cast on for the Back.
10 buttons with 2 cm (0.75”) diam.
Tapestry needle to weave in ends.
