The pattern has written instructions with some ‘how to’ photos.

Skills needed: Basic knitting, know how to knit an I-cord, yarn over increase and simple decreases. Hand sewing a must.

If you use a worsted weight yarn that is thinner than normal, you will need to increase the number of stitches for the diamonds and leaves. Be sure to check your gauge unless you want the garment smaller.

You can use any worsted weight yarn, solid or with long subtle color changes. Variegated yarns are too busy for this pattern. The original that I designed used Debbie Mumm Traditions, color Chocolate raspberry. It has been discontinued but you may already have it in your stash. Acrylic or acrylic blend yarns with very little wool content work best for steam blocking. Steam blocking is used with this pattern.

Tools needed:
Size 8 circular or straight needles
Size 8 double point needles
Tapestry needle
Sewing straight pins

You will need 1 button 7/8th inch or larger.
