This easy cowl pattern uses only knit and purl stitches to achieve a textured look. Wide ribbing and purl stitch ‘diamonds’ provide visual interest. This one-skein project is quick to knit in worsted weight yarn on a circular needle. Choose a beautiful colour and you’ll have a pretty cowl in no time at all!

This cowl is designed in Red Sock Blue Sock Yarn Superwash Worsted and the colour shown is Olive. It is also shown here in one skein of Lichen and Lace Superwash Merino Worsted in Linen.

Pattern includes stitch guide, list of abbreviations, and the pattern stitch is both charted and written.

Finished measurements: Approximately 10 inches (26 cm) tall and 12 inches (30 cm) wide laid flat, after blocking. Total circumference is approximately 24 inches (61 cm).

Skills required: knitting and purling in the round. Stitches used: k, p.
