I am a northern Canadian designer specializing in knitted accessories – scarves, cowls, shawls, hats, socks, and mittens. I enjoy designing with lace, cables, and texture. I work with all weights of yarn and I focus on designing one (or sometimes two) skein projects that are perfect for hand-dyed and/or luxury yarns. I am especially interested in designing with Canadian yarns. Leah Michelle Designs are uncomplicated, with clean lines and symmetry.
My patterns are well written, easy to understand, edited, and tested. Patterns include a list of abbreviations, notes, written and/or charted instructions, and beautiful photography. My patterns are appropriate for all levels of knitters.
I was mentioned in the Made in Canada column of the Holiday 2012 issue of Vogue Knitting International magazine! I have been interviewed for the Loopy Ewe Designer Spotlight series, on the CowTown Knits blog, and by Robin Hunter for her Professional Knitter series.
My patterns are available to local yarn shops through the Ravelry In-Store Pattern Sales Program. My designer group can be found here: Leah Michelle Designs.
