Diamonds for Mother, a tribute to mothers everywhere, is a lace rectangle knitted in one piece lengthwise. Worked up in any of the three yarns listed below, it is a wonderful scarf or stole. Knit in 100% cotton Lustrado, it also makes a beautiful table runner. I chose red, as a symbol of happiness and luck, to honor my own mother this Mother’s Day. The diamonds motif pattern is from The Haapsalu Shawl: A Knitted Lace Tradition from Estonia, page 154.

Originally offered by elann.com as a free pattern. Visit international.elann.com to see currently available free patterns.

Over the years elann.com has offered a variety of free patterns to showcase elann brand yarns – this was one of them. As elann’s new site, international.elann.com, develops, many of these longtime favorite designs will be re-formatted and made available for purchase. This will be a time-consuming process, which we hope to accomplish by the end of 2015, so we ask for your patience.

Throughout this process, on a rotating basis, we’ll be offering 6 free patterns per month at international.elann.com. They’ll be free for one month, and then subsequently available for purchase as .pdf downloads. We encourage you to visit international.elann.com often to see our latest offerings.
