Inspired a Victorian lace knitting stitch, Dillmont is named after Thérèse de Dillmont, the author of the Encyclopedia of Needlework, a Victorian guide to needlework that is still in print today. Dillmont is a reversible, biased triangular garter stitch shawl which starts with a small number of cast-on stitches and increases gradually to the cast-off edge that forms the short side of the triangle.

The shawl can be knitted using any weight of yarn and the size is easily customised to make the most of your yarn. Instructions are also included for a rectangular version.
