Most placemats are too big for my table, so I developed this pattern to make a smaller (and washable) placemat for everyday use. No placemat overlap; they’re just the right size!
I used almost every last lovin’ inch of one skein listed below, so if you’re a looser knitter than I am, you may need a second skein.

Materials:
• One skein of Lily Sugar ‘n Cream (I used color “Earth Ombre”)
• Size 8 (5mm) knitting needles (your choice of straights or circulars)
• Tapestry needle
• Time
Gauge: 4 stitches = 1 inch; row gauge not highly important
