This cosy double-sided cowl is quick to knit using a bouncy Aran weight yarn. Dimples is a seamless design, worked in the round with a fun cable pattern that creates a superb double-sided fabric.

The same pattern that forms a more traditional hourglass cable on the right side creates subtle lozenges with little peek-a-boo purl dots on the reverse, making it a perfect wearable autumnal piece.

  • Pattern provides instructions for adjusting the size of the cowl, covering a range of sizes from 28 in / 70 cm to 48 in / 120 cm with 4 in / 10 cm increments.

  • Intermediate difficulty - knit, purl, cables, knitting in the round, simple increases and decreases, and finishing.

  • Finished Measurements - approximately 12 ½ in / 31.5 cm tall and 28 in / 70 cm circumference.

  • Yarn - Malabrigo Twist (100% merino wool, 100g / 150 yds / 137 m) #613 Zinc, 2 skeins. Substitute with approximately 300 yards / 274 metres of chunky or heavy aran weight yarn.

  • Needles and Notions - size 5.5 mm (US 9) short circular needle or a set of long double pointed needles. 6 stitch markers, one contrast marker, cable needle, and tapestry needle.

  • Gauge - 14 sts and 22 rnds = 4 in / 10 cm in St st using 5.5 mm (US 9) needles (used for reference only). Adjust needle size if necessary to get the correct gauge.
