Bernat Dippity Dots yarn is fairly easy to knit with until you need to kitchener or slip the tail through any loops on the needles. Just be patient.

The gauge for the hat on US 5 needles is 6 stitches to the inch and 7 rows to the inch.

It took less than one skein for the mittens and hat of the Dippity Dots
and about 2.5 skeins of the Merino Classic for both.

US 5 needles used were 16” long.
