This hat is knit with 3 colors of fingering or DK weight yarn and makes a good project for someone new to stranded knitting. One color is the background, the other two alternate as pattern. It could also be knit with only two colors (one pattern, one background) or more by adding pattern and/or background colors.

It is designed for an adult and is one-size. The primary way to adjust size is to adjust gauge by using smaller/larger needles.
