Dog Days 4 wraps up the series for now—it’s another smallish kerchief project (though this one is a little larger, and comes as one adjustable size), using just a little more than a half-skein of Malabrigo Rios yarn.

This takes about 116 yards of yarn, though that may vary slightly. I was able to knit both Dog Days 3 & 4 from one skein of Rios in Apple Green, so that worked out pretty nicely.

It also looks nice in Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok, which I used for the buffalo nickel button/grey wool sample.

Materials:
About 116-120 yards of Malabrigo Yarn Rios or Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok
1 24” circular needle, used to knit flat, or pair of straights in US7-8/4.5-5.0mm, or size needed for gauge
2 buttons, approximately 7/8”, or size to fit eyelets
Tapestry needle

Gauge:
Gauge is fairly important! It’s not going to ruin a moon landing, but a smaller gauge could make a too-small scarf. Gauge is 16 sts and 32 rows over 4”/10cm.

I’ve added a tutorial post about picking up stitches over on the informal blog, because I think it may be very straightforward for a lot of people but perplexing for a few. So it might warrant a photo tutorial, just not necessarily in the pattern, which people might want to print out.
