NOTE: THE ADORABLE PUPPY YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS IS THE DOG OF ONE OF MY BUYERS, A FABULOUS KNITTER NAMED CASSIE BUTCHER. CASSIE GAVE ME PERMISSION TO USE HER LUCY’S PHOTO AND I’M VERY GRATEFUL. THANK YOU CASSIE! THE ADORABLE WHITE DOG BELONGS TO ANOTHER BUYER, “ASHLEIGH,” WHO POSTED THIS PHOTO ON HER REVIEW OF THE MINIATURE DACHSHUND WAFFLE STITCH SWEATER. THANK YOU ASHLEIGH! And of course, my Muse and Love, our little Lena, is featured wearing her Miniature Dachshund Waffle Stitch Sweater. She is 16 1/2 years old now and we treasure every day with her.

My Lena’s Waffle Stitch Miniature Dachshund Sweater is one of my most popular patterns and in recent months, I’ve received a number of requests to make this pattern available for puppies and small dogs, so I’ve adapted the Miniature Dachshund sweater pattern for these other dogs. The original pattern is still available in my shop so if you have a Miniature Dachshund, please check it out!

The waffle stitch makes a cozy, warm garment and is very easy to do. If you can knit and purl, you can do this stitch!

The Front and Back pieces are knitted flat. I include instructions for knitting the turtle neck collar in-the-round or knitting it flat too.

After knitting the pieces, you’ll seam the sides.

The ribbed sleeves are knit in-the-round. If you don’t want to do that, feel free to add simply add a single crochet edging around the armholes.

If you’d like to knit yourself a matching outfit, please see my “Easy Waffle Hat and Scarf” pattern!

I’m always here to help my buyers, so if you have any questions as you work up the design, please contact me at the Email address given on the pattern.

Thank you … and as always, my little Lena sends warm greetings to all the other adorable little doggies out there!
