“Dolce Vino” is a seamless shawl knitted top-down from the central neck stitches to the edge. The triangular shape is achieved by 4 stitch increases every right side row. “ “Dolce Vino” or “Sweet Wine” was inspired by the lovely circular pattern that is used in the main portion of the shawl body. The pattern reminds me of grapes and the color of the yarn of wine, so that is how the name “Dolce Vino” come about.

The sample shawl in the photographs was knitted with 14 repeats of the circular pattern and after blocking was 187 cm (74 inches) for the straight edge on the top of the shawl and 74 cm (29 inches) for the height of the shawl at the center. You can easily make it bigger or smaller by adding or taking away pattern repeats. The shawl design is modular and the border pattern can be started after the desired number of the body pattern repeats is knitted.

Body and border lace patterns are charted only. Both lace patterns used are easy to memorize and fun to knit.
