While sorting through old photos, I found one of my father when he was a baby (back in the early ’20s) … next to him in the photo was a doll. I just couldn’t get that doll out of my head! I tried to find her to place what she could have been, but never did. I thought, one day, I’d try to figure out a knitting pattern to look something like her. I had originally thought she would make a cute baby toy … but as I went along, and her head was so HUGE, I decided she didn’t look quite right for a baby. Instead, I gave her a ’20s bob and I think she would do much better for an older child!
She is easily knit in the round on double-pointed needles. Her face is embroidered. Her hair is just yarn taken in satin stitches all the way around her head.She likes to chat on the phone and prop herself up in bed. She’s happiest when she’s perusing fashion magazines and party books! I hope you like her!
