This loop looks equally attractive worn long, displaying the changes in cable patterns, or wound twice around the neck for added warmth to chase the winter chill.

Pattern is recommended for the intermediate to advanced knitter with prior experience knitting cables, provisional cast on and grafting.

However, the directions are detailed enough for the adventuresome beginner willing to take on a new challenge!

Pattern has both written and charted instructions, and includes a helpful key for grafting in pattern.
For those of you put off by provisional cast on and grafting, you can of course opt to sew the loop closed.

This project is a nod to my Irish heritage and love of music and poetry, expressed in doodles of cables.

Donegal, meaning “fort of the foreigners,” is a town in County Donegal, Ireland.

Until the early 1600s, Donegal was the capital of Tír Chonaill, a Gaelic kingdom controlled by the O’Donnell Clan of the Cenél Conaill. Donegal sits at the mouth of the River Eske and Donegal Bay, which is overshadowed by the Bluestack Mountains. The centre of the town, known as The Diamond, is a hub for music, poetic and cultural gatherings in the area.
