The Donnybrook 957 Light is a light weight version of a classic Kiwi pattern that has been redesigned with a modern twist and is the ultimate go to knit for children.

Knit in 4ply / fingering weight yarn, this pattern is simple and easy to follow with clear steps and no guessing involved.

Sized from birth to 12 years, knit from the top down and with seamless construction, this will become a firm favourite. The pattern features an optional hood and is designed to be a slim fit with a long torso.

Looking for a heavier weight version? Check out the Donnybrook 957 which is a 8ply / DK weight version.

Construction
This jacket is knit from the top down. You cast on at the neckline and work the yoke flat before splitting for the body and sleeves. The body is continued to be worked flat down to the hem.

The sleeve stitches are then picked up and the sleeves are worked in the round down to the cuff. For the optional hood you will pick up stitches along the neckline before knitting the hood upwards and seaming it together with a three-needle bind off.

Sizing
This pattern is designed to be a slim fit with approx. 3cm of positive ease built into the pattern. This means the finished jacket will only be slightly bigger than the chest sizes given below. If you want a jacket with more room for a growing child, then size up one size. This jacket is also designed to be long in the body.
