Dorothy’s Daisy Crown is a lovely, textured hat made from fingering weight yarn (sock yarn is great for this hat!). The daisy stitch creates a soft, squishy, warm fabric that looks great in solid colors, long color repeats, or other types of multicolored yarns. This had used a little less than 1/2 of a ball of knit picks chroma fingering weight yarn, and I think you could get 2 hats out of one ball pretty easily. While this hat is made from a light weight yarn so it is not as bulky as many crochet hats, it is still very warm and suitable for most winter days!

This hat is crocheted from the brim up, skills needed include single crochet, double crochet, front post and back post double crochet, crochet increasing and decreasing, and the daisy stitch. A link to a video tutorial for the daisy stitch is provided in the pattern.

This is a relatively quick project, taking about 6-7 hours to complete and is recommended for advanced beginners willing to learn new techniques, or intermediate level crocheters and up.
