Dotta Cardigan is an open front, V-neck cardigan with long, wide sleeves. It’s worked in Stockinette stitch and features a popcorn pattern at the lower body and sleeves, which forms decorative little dots. The cardigan is worked top down in one piece. Beginning with the right and left neckbands, stitches are then picked up along the neckband edge for the fronts, the narrow saddle shoulders, and the back. The shoulder section is then worked with increases. The back neck is shaped with short rows. After reaching the cross-back width, the sleeve caps are created, and the upper body is worked in one piece to the length of the armhole depth, increasing at the sleeves, and later, at the body. The shoulders and sleeve caps are based on the contiguous set-in sleeve method, created by Susie Myers, but worked with some deviations. Once the upper body is finished, the sleeve stitches are put on hold and the lower body is worked down to the hem. The pattern contains instructions for both a straight lower body and a slight A-Line shaping. The front bands are worked lengthwise, simultaneously with the body. Finally, the sleeves are worked in the round.

Dotta Cardigan ist eine verschlusslose Jacke mit V-Ausschnitt und langen, weiten Ärmeln. Sie wird glatt rechts gestrickt, mit einem Popcorn-Muster im unteren Bereich der Jacke und Ärmel, das kleine dekorative Pünktchen bildet. Die Jacke wird von oben nach unten in einem Stück gestrickt. Begonnen wird mit der rechten und linken Halsblende, aus deren Längsseiten Maschen für die Vorderteile, die schmalen Sattelschultern und das Rückenteil herausgestrickt werden. Dann wird die Schulterpartie mit Zunahmen gestrickt. Der hintere Halsausschnitt wird mit verkürzten Reihen geformt. Nach Erreichen der Rückenbreite werden die Armkugeln gebildet und danach der obere Jackenbereich in einem Stück bis zur Armlochtiefe gestrickt, mit Zunahmen an den Ärmeln und später an den Vorderteilen und am Rückenteil. Die Konstruktion der Schultern und Armkugeln basiert auf der von Susie Myers entwickelten „contiguous set-in sleeve-Methode“, wird aber mit einigen Abänderungen gearbeitet. Nach Fertigstellung des oberen Jackenbereichs werden die Ärmelmaschen stillgelegt und Vorderteile und Rückenteil werden fertiggestellt. Die Anleitung beinhaltet Angaben sowohl für einen geraden unteren Jackenbereich als auch für eine Version mit leichter A-Linie. Die Blenden werden längs, gleichzeitig mit den Vorderteilen mitgestrickt. Zuletzt werden die Ärmel in der Runde gestrickt.
