I created this 60”x 72” throw pattern based on my popular “Chocolate Buttons” pillow cover which I designed some time ago and which uses this cable. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/chocolate-buttons...
The blanket is knit using a double thickness worsted/#4/aran yarn, or you could substitute a super bulky/super chunky/#6 yarn.

This is really quite a straightforward pattern for the beginner knitter who has some familiarity working a simple cable. It calls for a circular needle (rows knit back and forth) to accommodate the large number of stitches and a cable needle.

If you have the patience to work on one project for a long time, you should have no trouble with this pattern and will have a beautiful heirloom for your family to enjoy for years to come.
