I just love a project that results in an accessory that gives me lots of versatility. This cowl is just such a project.

If you choose to wear it without blocking, it creates a warm, lofty, very textural cowl that fits more closely around the neck.

Block it out to open up the lace and you’ll have a lovely and light cowl that also can be worn as a hood.

Because of the knit and purl patterning of the lace, when it is blocked and worn as a cowl with the top edge turned down, it’s just as pretty on the reverse side as it is on the front.

The cowl features a bobbled edge at the cast on end that will frame either your neck or face with interesting detail.

The pattern provides both written and charted instructions.
