I love a good contrasting sock heel. I love to work my socks toe up and top down- depending on my mood. I love garter and stockinette stitch. These socks are designed to cater to all the sock variations using a short row heel. You will find directions for both toe up and top down versions in a shortie sock, which will make the most of your sock yarn scraps. You will also find two heels, garter and stockinette, using German Short Rows in an unusual configuration.

Multiple widths are included in this pattern. Leg and foot length are customizable.

Materials: 50g of superwash sock yarn plus a 20g mini-skein for cuffs, heels and toes. My sample uses Plymouth Happy Feet 100 Splash in Tuscan Spice (90% superwash merino wool, 10% nylon, 100g, 384 yds/351 m), and a teal mystery scrappy skein (20g).
US 2 (2.75mm) double pointed or long circular needles for magic loop or size needed for gauge. The pattern is written for magic loop.
