The Down River MKAL begins on Tuesday, April 18th with the first clue. Updates with subsequent clues will be released on April 25th and May 2nd, with the full, final release of the pattern scheduled for May 16th. Knit along and join us for some fun in the Paper Moon Knits group.


Down River is a delicate, two-color, trans-seasonal cowl inspired by a stream near my home. Each of the textures in the cowl are created with simple stitches, and represent the rustic path (along which I often walk), the reeds along the bank, and the stream itself.

• 219 yds/200m worsted weight yarn (color A)
• 219 yds/200m worsted weight yarn (color B)

• US 8 (5mm) needles, 24” (60cm) needles
or size to obtain gauge

• tapestry needle
• stitch marker (1)

Construction Notes:
• The cowl is worked in the round.
• The cowl’s circumference can be adjusted by working any multiple of 8 sts. Note that this will affect the amount of yarn needed.
