This pattern was written as a weekly knitalong project for customers at Woolwinders Yarn Shop in Rockville, MD. Each week, a new section of the lace sampler border was released to be worked on during that week’s episode of Downton Abbey.

This wrap is worked side to side with two strands of yarn held together throughout (one strand of merino DK and one strand of mohair). The mohair is optional but lends the piece an added level of softness and sophistication. The pattern is worked in three sections. Section one is the body. It is worked horizontally in a simple stockinette stitch and all stitches are left live on waste yarn in preparation to working section two.

Section two is a lace sampler border comprised of eight different lace patterns worked in squares across the live stitches at the bottom of section one. Each square works approximately 26-30 of the live stitches at a time. There is some very minimal seaming of these squares upon completion of this section. Section three is a finishing lace scallop edging.

We hope you enjoy our second Downton Abbey Knitalong pattern from Woolwinders Yarn Shop as much as you did our first, the Downton Abbey Knitalong Scarf pattern, which we issued last year! Enjoy, friends!
