The Louise Cloche is a lovely basic hat that is extra warm with a double layer of fabric for the brim. The stitch simplicity creates an elegant unadorned hat but also invites creativity for embellishing the Louise with your favorite bow, button, flower, or brooch. The hat in the pic is knitted with #5 bulky 100% wool roving but can also be knit with two strands of worsted weight held together.

Three sizes are included.

U.S. Size 10.5 16-inch circular needles and dpns for decreases

#5 bulky weight yarn Color A for brim: 40 yards
#5 bulky weight yarn Color B for top: 80 yards

#4 worsted weight yarn Color A for brim: 80 yards, held double
#4 worsted weight yarn Color B for top: 160 yards, held double
Optional Bow: 10 yards each of two different colors or 20 yards of one color
