Oh how we will miss our beloved characters from Downton Abbey! I designed Downton Farewell as a companion to last years Mrs. Hughes Refusal. I didn’t want to limit myself to any of the characters as i love them all and will miss them terribly. It’s funny how attached we can become to a show and its storyline. Do you have a favorite character?

The Downton Farewell sock knit from cuff to toe is a fitting tribute to all those characters we have come to know and love. I have both written and charted instructions as well as a photo tutorial. A video to help with a technique used in the design is forthcoming. While this is not quick knit you will develop a flow to it and it’s just so fun to watch the flower buds appear. If you’ve knit a sock you can knit the Downton Farewell socks!
