Our favorite characters are back for a Downton Abbey feature film! As the creator of the original Downton Abbey MKALs, I couldn’t resist a little Downton design to accompany the movie. This simple asymmetrical shawette is a quick knit to whip up as you re-watch the original series. The design features squishy garter stitch, eyelets, and a pretty lace pattern finished off with gorgeous picots!

This special Downton design was created for the Sierra Yarn Crawl - September 19-22nd, 2019. Participants of the crawl can pick up their free copy of the pattern at the Yarn Refuge in Reno, NV that weekend. The design will remain exclusive to the crawl until October 1st. This is a pre-order, so the pattern will be released to all those who purchase the pre-order on October 1st when I will drop it right into your libraries and send you an update!

Please note, when you pre-order the pattern, you will receive the 1st page of the pattern as a placeholder until I release the pattern on October 1st.

Materials:
-1 skein Storyteller DK (245 yds/100g) Shown in Lush
-1 skein of Arkaik Fibres Lore (255 yds/100g) Shown in A Drag in D Flat
-or- approximately 250 yards of 2 colors of DK weight yarn (500 yards total)
-US 7 - 24” or 32” circular needles
-Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Gauge (unblocked):
21 sts & 40 rows = 4” in garter stitch.

Swatch is left un-blocked so that you may unravel your yarn and use it in your project. Gauge is important. If you tend to use extra yarn either go down a needle size or purchase extra yarn. I had about 13 g/31 yds of the Storyteller and 19g/48 yards of the Arkaik Fibres leftover.

Finished Measurements (Blocked):

Approximately 73” along top edge, 62” along bottom long-side edge, 48” along lace border (with lace points pinned out.)
