Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus (Never tickle a sleeping dragon). Awaken your inner sleeping dragon with this fun scarf that uses simple stitches to create a dramatic effect.

Size:
Approximately 70in (175cm) long and 12in (30cm) deep at widest point (blocked),

Hook:
• I used a size H (5mm) hook.

Gauge:
Approximately 6 stitches per inch (3sc, 3ch sts, unblocked).

Notions:
• Tapestry needle

Yarn:
The sample I made used:
• Knit Picks, Stroll Tonal (fingering weight, 4 ply, 462 yards per 100g skein, 75% SW Merino, 25% Nylon), in the colorway “Raven.”
• 96g, 443 yards used.
Any fingering weight yarn will work for this project.

Notes:
• You will need only one 100g skein of fingering weight yarn to complete the scarf. It’s easy to end early if you run out of yarn.
• You can easily make the scarf longer, but you will need more than one skein of yarn.
• The pattern looks great in variegated yarn.
• This pattern uses US crochet terminology.

Skills Needed:
Perfect for adventurous beginners, this pattern utilizes:
• single crochet
• chain stitches
• simple construction
