Intermediate: This is a great pattern for those that want to try their hand at lace, even rows do not have a lace pattern, so you can ‘rest’ your brain during those rows. The odd rows, however, require a bit of concentration and counting.

This pattern is charted and written and has been tested for errors by my amazing and detail oriented testers.

I designed this shawl with a few things in mind. One, my love for dragons inspired the scales at the top of the shawl and my love for birds inspired the feather portion at the bottom. I also didn’t want to have to buy two skeins of amazingly beautiful (yet fairly pricey) yarn so I designed it so that we only need to use one skein. Gauge is not critical (there is a gauge swatch chart of a dragon scale at the end of the pattern if you want to check your gauge to see if you are close to mine) but it will come into play if you are trying to not use more than one skein. If your gauge is tighter, you won’t need more yarn, if your gauge is looser you may need a second skein-so plan accordingly.
