Chain maille without the sag and chill of metal against skin. These mitts are designed to fit comfortably throughout the day. The ribbing holds the gauntlet firmly in place, shaping from the thumb to the forearm offer a slim fit, and a tight gauge prevent stretching.

This patterned is designed primarily for large arms, as that was the purpose for it’s invention to begin with. A smaller version will be coming along soon.

So long as you can work a rib and stockinette in the round, you can make these gauntlets! A picture tutorial is provided for adding scales.

Scales can be purchased from most chain maille suppliers. They are called Scales, or scale maille. The scales used for this pattern were purchased through theringlord.com. The pattern requires approximately 600 scales.
