This gossamer shawl has several original stitch patterns (for Dragonfly, Thistle, and Snakes Chasing Peaches ). It was knit in an extremely fine plied silk yarn that is, unfortunately, no longer available. A wool or alpaca yarn giving the same gauge over stockinette should work, as long as the resulting fabric has lots of drape.

I’d recommend this for fairly advanced (or, okay, very adventurous!) knitters.
