Use this pattern to practise the dragon scale stitch (also known as crocodile stitch). Starting with five rows of scales, although you could add more, a section of trebles is worked for the hand, then finished with a crochet rib. Worked flat using DK yarn, you could also use this as a scrap buster, working each row of scales in a different colour.

Yarn: 70 (80, 90, 100) g DK weight yarn, 180-240 m / 196-263 yds per 100 g

Hook: 3.5 mm / E-4 crochet hook, or size to achieve gauge.
