This is a simple, sideways knit, draped vest in Colinette Enigma. Its structure produces a garment that is flattering to many body types and sizes - with the vertical and diagonal lines creating a slimming silhouette. The pattern can be easily modified for larger sizes.

We’ve chosen to work the Enigma at a firmer tension than recommended by the manufacturer, as this avoids any worming by this slinky thick & thin yarn, yet still allows for a beautifully drapey fabric.

We’ve used Colinette Giotto to work a simple crochet border around the exterior edges, including the armholes. Any smooth yarn of similar weight may be substituted for the Giotto.

The pictured version is worked in Enigma in Frangipani and Giotto in Lichen.

This pattern was designed by Sarah Durrant in 2005, and is available direct to her customers at designated craft shows. Alternatively, email e-info@sarahdurrant.com for details.
