He can scale cliffs. He can beat giants. He can even go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

This Dreadful Dreadful Pirate amigurumi stands about 8.5 inches tall when finished. His pirate head scarf and his mask are both easily removable, so you can change his look depending on your agenda for the day: fencing, castle-storming, or maybe just lounging about. (Masks are terribly comfortable.)

To make the Pirate, you will need three different black yarns: A standard worsted weight / Aran (I used Bernat Super Saver Black), a variegated or lightly heathered black (I used Heartland Canyon Black), and a baby soft black (I used Caron Simply Soft Black). You should also have blue safety eyes, an eight-inch length of jewelry wire, and a 12”x12” square of black felt or fabric.

Required stitches include sc, HDC, DC, and sc2tog. There are exactly two double crochet decreases (DC2tog), and the pattern includes a phototutorial to help with those, along with plenty of other pictures to help with everything else.
