This dress has a wide neck opening, as well as an open back with a small snap closure, to avoid any fuss associated with putting a dress over the head of a small child. A little girl can simply step into the garment and let Mom snap the back.

Using variegated yarn, striping can occur in small areas of horizontal knitting. To avoid this problem, the skirt portion of this dress is worked from side-to-side. For the bodice, stitches are picked up along the top of the skirt and the remainder of the garment is knit horizontally. The waistband and flower pins are worked with small amounts of two accent yarns in solid colors.

Yarn Requirements:
Variegated Yarn in Color Gypsy Rose: 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) hanks
Accent Yarn in Color Slate: 1 hank (all sizes)
Accent Yarn in Color Burgundy: 1 hank (all sizes)
