Very easy scarf for a beginner knitter. It is done completely with Knit Stitches and Yarn Overs to form the Drop Stitch. After learning the regular drop stitch, next try the Double Loop Drop Stitch. There are several patterns with the Double Loop Drop Stitch from scarves, shawls, kids sweater and ladies tee. It can be done with any type of yarn, plain, fuzzy, textured, soft, wool, acrylic, alpaca, llama, nylons, your choice. Any size needle can be used with any size yarn. The pattern is done with worsted weight on a size 8 needle. But you can make it on Sport/DK weight with a 6 needle, just add more stithes. Or for a quick knit, use a chunky yarn with a size 11 needle and less stitches. The type and texture of yarn you choose makes the scarf. It takes between 1 and 2 balls of yarn depending on the put up per skein. 200 yards is the average amount of yardage.
