These socks, knitted from the top down, feature a delicate braided rib cuff, and a traditional heel flap and gusset. The main fabric of the sock is a simple pattern of stockinette stitch, interspersed with purl “drops.” The braided rib can be accomplished without the use of a cable needle.

The Drops of Sunshine Socks are a collaboration with Jilly and Kiddles Yarn. The sample is knit in the Fancy Sock base, in “Hey, Ray of Sunshine.”

You will need:
100 gram skein of sock yarn. Pictured sample uses Jilly and Kiddles Fancy Sock in “Hey, Ray of Sunshine.”
Size 1US needles for knitting in the round (double pointed needles, or longer circular needle for magic loop method, as preferred). You may choose to use a smaller or larger needle to get correct gauge, but a size 1 needle is a good place to start.
Scissors and a blunt needle for finishing.

Gauge: 36 sts over 4” in pattern.

Size: Women’s M, L
