Easy to knit textures, this cowl is worked as two separate pieces that are buttoned together. Each half can also be used as a shorter cowl.
One half features a wide garter rib based cable, and the other a knit/purl rib/texture combination for contrasting yet compatible patterns.
The Garter Rib Cowl measures about 10 1/2” / 26.5 cm wide by 23 1/2” / 59.5 cm long. It uses about 269 yds / 246 m of yarn, or 2 hanks of Ultra Alpaca.
The Mosaic Rib Cowl measures about 11” / 28 cm wide by 23 1/2” / 59.5 cm long. It uses about 245 yds / 224 m of yarn, or 2 hanks of Ultra Alpaca.
To make the long cowl using one each of the two smaller cowls, you’ll need 514 yds / 470 m of yarn, or 3 hanks of Ultra Alpaca. The finished cowl will measure about 10 1/2” / 26.5 cm wide by 44” / 112 cm long.
You’ll need 5 buttons for each smaller cowl, and 10 buttons for the long cowl.
