Another simple to knit but complex looking design. No one needs to know how easy it is other than you though, especially if you knit this as a gift.

The stitches are simple because they use the mosaic stitch method of colourwork. You will be working with only one colour at a time in each round. Easy peasy even if you are new to this type of knitting.This pattern is written out in full row-by-row and does not use charts.

I have included a photo tutorial PDF on how I make my own pompoms if I cannot find a premade one that I like.

You can easily substitute with any worsted that will give a suitable gauge.

Measurements: After blocking: approx. 47 cm/19” brim, 25 cm/10” height,
50 cm/19.5” wide (will stretch to 64 cm/25”).

Gauge: Before blocking: 21 stitches x 28 rounds = 10 cm/4” square in stocking stitch with
5 mm/US 8 needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

Yarns Used:
Malabrigo Rios Pure 100% Merino Superwash, Worsted (9 wpi).
192 meters/210 yards, 100 grams.

Colour (A) 227 Volcan - Approx. 30 grams.
Colour (B) 133 Reflecting Pool - Approx. 40 grams.

Needles and supplies:
4.5 mm/US 7 circular needles 40 cm/16” long.
5 mm/US 8 circular needles 40 cm/16”long.
5 mm/US 8 double pointed needles.
10 stitch markers, one being a different colour to mark start of rounds.
Tapestry needle.
Optional purchased PomPom.
