♫ The Music ♫
The Old Dungarvan Oak is a traditional ballad that, like so many, tells of love and traditions and how they intertwine. The gnarled trunk of this ancient tree is so perfectly reflected in the cables of these socks.

These toe-up socks begin with a French toe. The pattern stitch is worked on the instep as well as the front and back leg. The gusset sports a tiny cable element. The heel is turned using short-row shaping so there is no picking up stitches. The heel flap is worked in a standard slip stitch pattern. The top ribbing flows from the pattern for a seamless finish.

Directions are included for both ankle socks and mid-calf length socks.

The cables in the stitch pattern are only worked on two rows of the 12-row stitch pattern, making this a really easy introduction to cables or a quick knit for more experienced cablers.

Stitch pattern is charted with written directions for the chart provided.
