The Hobbit movie certain provided a lot of knitwear for fans to debate stitches and patterns. My inspiration came from the dwarves, everything from their clothing to their accessories. For the cowl, the idea of the diamond brocade came together pretty quickly, based on Dori’s jacket label and laces, with the criss-crossing diamond motif.

The cowl is adjustable in height and width by increasing or decreasing the number of repeats, either in the texture section or the border.
