This piece is worked flat and sewn. Gauge is nonessential.

Materials needed:

• 80 yards 4 ply cotton/merino (or whatever you have laying around) yarn
• 1 medium button
• US 7 4.5 mm straight needles
• 1 tapestry needle/ 1 sewing needle
• Thread for sewing button on
• standard size coffee mug (about 10 inches around)

Techniques required:

• knit/purl
• BO bind off (advised against elastic bind offs)
• M1 Make 1 (we will be making 4 in a row)
• YF/YB yarn forward/ yarn back
• SL1PW Slip 1 Purlwise
• Longtail Cast on
• K2tg Knit 2 together
