Works up quickly and easily after getting the idea and hang of working in the extra thread of yarn created by the Half-double Crochet stitch.

One thing I love about this cowl is the look of “face-up chains” along the body of the work. (I think it might be called a crochet stockinette stitch, I’m not sure, but I didn’t use a Tunisian hook to make it with).

This can be made larger or smaller by just changing hook size and/or changing the number of initial chain stitches. As long as it will fit over your head you’ve got a cowl; convert it to a hooded cowl simply by increasing the number of rows until the desired length is reached.
