This is a pattern for a shawl that is comprised of two distinct Japanese stitches, that combine beautifully, creating a one of a kind shawl.

Both of the stitches are both charted and written out line by line. The lace focal stitch looks complicated, but it is easily learned making a perfect pattern for a relatively new knitter that would like to try their hand at lace. The “cluster” stitch adds a special look to the stitch, and is written out clearly for those knitters that have never tried a “cluster.”

There are also instructions for an optional edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged.

Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting). It is suitable for a beginner with a little bit of lace experience.

The yarn used in the sample is Lorna’s Laces Sportmate, in colorway, Mirth

The shawl was expertly test knitted Joy Macpherson who can contacted at: Joy.Macpherson@ gmail.com.
