A fantastic super-warm last-minute winter gift, these fingerless mitts knit up quickly from just one ball of worsted weight yarn in just a few hours. The construction is the simplest possible for fingerless mitts, with no shaping, needle changing, gussets, or picking up stitches (unless you add the optional thumb). They are also fully swappable and reversible. The cables add interest, but depending on your color choice, they can be suitable for children, men, or women. Unlike with mittens and gloves, you can still type or operate your touch-screen gadgets while wearing them, but since they cover the wrist pulse point and all but the fingertips, they do actually help you stay warm. These mitts are also excellent for keeping hands warm on cold steering wheels.
Make them as a set with the matching hat and neckwarmer to keep your loved one extra toasty.
