This is a wonderful starter project to learn the IODK method. It is written for a medium size head. To make a bigger or smaller size headband, increase or decrease the number of CO stitches by a multiple of 4 as needed.

YARN: Less than one skein each of two different colors of worsted weight yarn. Sample shown in Berroco Ultra Alpaca (50% Alpaca, 50% Wool; 215 yds per 100g hank); Color A: #6259 Beet Root; Color B: #6233 Rose Spice

NEEDLES: US 5/3.75 mm 16-inch circular needle

NOTIONS: stitch marker

GAUGE: 4 stitches = 1 inch

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 18” circumference, unstretched

NOTES: The K and P abbreviations used in conjunction with the A and B abbreviations indicate what to do with each yarn. For example, K1-A, P1-B means Knit one stitch using Color A, then Purl 1 stitch using Color B.There is no need to rearrange the order of stitches in this project – simply switch the working yarns as indicated.
