This is a very simple beginner crochet pattern for a ruffled brim hat. This works up quickly.

Sizes are approximate for the average head of that age range. I recommend measuring the head width and increasing accordingly. If you need to make it larger or smaller than the sizes available in the pattern simply add or subtract an increase row.

I used red heart tweed yarn with a size K hook when writing this pattern. Any worsted weight yarn will work. Be sure to check gauge and change hook size accordingly to ensure proper fit.

I used approximately 2/3 of a 213 yard skein of yarn for the largest size in this pattern.

If you have any questions I would be happy to help.

Happy Crocheting!
