This hat was inspired by long walks on the Cape Cod National Seashore. We love the texture reminiscent of tide washed sand and windswept dunes.

Knit up with Mewesic, with its rustic good looks and tweedy rich color, this hat knits up into a medium weight cap that drapes beautifully and wears well.

The pattern includes instructions for two versions of the hat: a “high tide” beanie and a “low tide” slouch. Style, yarn, and two versions of the pattern combine into the perfect accessory for him or her!

The cable pattern is written and charted and may be a great pattern to try cabling without a needle. Ysolda Teague has a terrific tutorial among her Technique Thursday posts that you can find here.
